   A pixel is a single "picture element", so these units measure the resolution, or fineness, of an image.
   2. abbreviation for pages per inch, a measure of paper thickness.
   3. abbreviation for pores per inch, a measure of porosity for polyurethane foams and other industrial foam and filter products.
