kilobar

kilobar
(kbar or kb)
   a metric unit of pressure, used particularly in industrial applications and in geology for measuring high pressures. The kilobar equals 1000 bars, 100 megapascals, or about 14 503 pounds per square inch. (Note: in the investment world a kilobar is a bar of gold, silver, or platinum weighing 1 kilogram.)
